Last week saw the 10-year yield take a breather once more.  The big news of the week was the long overdue correction in the stock market.  For those that invest in the stock market, it has been a great two-year run.  However, whenever we have corrections, investors get spooked.

Looking back over the last week, it is clear that the 10-year yield definitively has some momentum going in the upward direction. Moving up about 40 basis points (over a month’s time) has not occurred since the massive run-up in November of 2016. 

Last week the 10-year yield actually took a breather and went slightly down.  With this reprieve, I thought now would be a good time to review some of the tax reform information.

The 10-year yield continued its upward movement this past week.  In the chart below, please notice the red circle.  That circle represents a breakthrough to a new high in the last two years.  The “talking heads” are pointing to economies both here in the US and in Europe as improving.
